Operation Chanel No. 5
It’s time I fill you guys in on this one.
Operation Chanel No.5 Started when we went to SG, June of 2011. After we left, I made the decision to finally heed my sister’s call and move there myself. Since then, I have planned in secret with my best friend following the pattern we used to talk about as the 3 year plan.
It used to go like this:
After graduation
3 yrs in the PH
3 yrs in SG
3 yrs… somewhere else.
and so on…
We are on the 3rd year in the PH and i’ve decided to push through with the plan so also following my obsession with sniffing and stealing squirts of Chanel No. 5 in SG I’ve named my plan of migration “Operation Chanel No. 5”
“Operation Chanel No. 5” has 5 phases
Phase 1: Apply for EPEC (employment pass)
Phase 2: Pick a date and book ticket
Phase 3: Give resignation letter and formally resign from post in eServe
Phase 4: Fly to SG and start hunting for jobs
Phase 5: Once hired, buy Chanel No. 5 with 1st salary.
So we are now just passed phase 3. In a week we will be in phase 4.
I’ve been asked why I wanted to go through with this even though i have a good job and a high position in a good company here.
I’ve been asked by my bosses to stay and made a pretty good offer as well… but it’s just something I have to do.
“…and not when I have come to die, discover that I have not lived.”
I feel that this is me being young, i’ve got the world ahead of me and it’s too soon to settle. This is the best time of my life to take chances.
I fear failure, but I fear missed chances more.
So with that I’ll leave, if I fail, I still have a lot to come back to.
Here’s to being young.
